FAQ
Q.   I'm using the Standard (or Short) Bid Template in my Bid Recap. The number of hours I see on my Direct Labor tab is less than what I see for my total hours on the Top Sheet. If I multiply my Labor rate times the total hours, I seem to be losing Labor dollars as well.

A.   You probably have some material in your Takeoff that is assigned to a Labor Class other than Electrical (Labor Class 1). Scroll down on the Direct Labor tab to the Low Voltage and Equipment Operator sections, and see if any hours are coming into those sections. Make sure you have at least one crewman entered in Column B. Chances are there are hours in one section or the other. You’ll need to apply rates to those Labor Classes in order to get the correct number of Labor dollars in your final Bid.

To find what items in your job are assigned to these other Labor Classes, go to the Summary screen and scroll to the right until you see the “Lab-Class#” column. Scroll down through the list until you find material set to anything other than 1.

NOTE: This does not affect the Quick, Basic & Change Order or Basic Extended templates.

Q.   I am on the Quotes screen, but I cannot select a quote.

A.   You are in the Takeoff Quotes section. Quotes can be accessed from either Takeoff or Bid Recap. The screens are the same except for the buttons at the bottom of the screen and the selection column. The Takeoff Quotes allow you to quickly enter quotes while in takeoff without having to load Bid Recap. When you are in Bid Recap, the ‘Select’ and ‘Preferences’ buttons are available for you to choose the quotes you want included in the bid.
