Davenport University
Dearborn, Michigan
ConEst has once again joined in a partnership with Davenport University by placing IntelliBid in two of their main campuses located in Dearborn and Warren, Michigan, for use in their estimating course. Many of you will recall the article in our Summer 2002 issue of The Winning Bid in which we reviewed the success of the course and introduced you to the course instructor, Jerry Pensler. Jerry and the course are back by popular demand with Davenport planning the first in a series of classes to begin in October 2004.
The 10-week course, entitled The Fundamentals of Electrical Estimating and Project Management, has been expanded to include training on the art of project management as well as the fundamentals of cost estimating. For more information or to sign up for the next class, go to

Triangle Tech
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
ConEst has placed 125 licenses of IntelliBid at the campuses of Triangle Tech for use in the Residential and Light Commercial Electricity course scheduled to begin in October 2004. The portion of the course that will include the use of IntelliBid introduces students to Cost Estimating and Technical Writing…a study of estimating material and labor on residential and commercial industrial electrical installations. Students will also learn to interpret and write construction documents, including contracts, proposals and bonds. For more information or to sign up for the next class, go to
www.triangle-tech.edu or call 1-800-874-8324!
The manual method of estimating is the initial focus of the courses at both of these prestigious institutions. Once the students have been fully exposed to all facets of manual takeoff, they are then taught how to apply those skills to computerized takeoff using the ConEst IntelliBid estimating program.
ConEst is honored to have been selected by both Davenport University and Triangle Tech as a contributor to the education of individuals in our industry and want to take this opportunity to wish both facilities and your students tremendous success with the coming courses.
